It was a lonesome eve for Denise. The sky buzzed with life from distant stars. Twinkled in every tint imaginable, and it lifted her spirits in a odd way. She enjoyed watching the stars, it reminded her of her childhood. Oh, how she missed it - late nights laying in her apartment lawn. Not one damn care in the world - it was her and her teddy. She adored her teddy as well. He had soft brown fur, and two button eyes. He even had a heart patched on his chest. She left all that behind in her old neighborhood, with her "old" family.
Denise lit up another cigarette and leaned on a brick wall. He hair lightly grasping the ridges of the wall. She had low hopes she'd get what she came for. She was looking for some sort of sign. Something to tell her she could go on and continue her life worry free. As if that was possible, and out here? Hah! she had the lowest hopes of all in this almost deserted alley. She chuckled to her self taking one puff, two puffs, three puffs. Tears swelled up in her eyes, but she refused to let them pour. Her refusal made her stronger - she needed to be stronger than the rest. Thats what made her different, it made her unique. She was alone in this world - strength kept her going.
